Day 12 - Catchin' the Z's

Unevent
Not much of anything happened today.  Everybody slept in, for obvious reasons.  I contacted Nora in the late morning, and she informed me that the pain in her side was feeling much better, but that the doctor will require her to spend one more night in the hospital.  She is on antibiotics, and must eat nothing but boiled food for the rest of the trip (boiled chicken and white rice).  Casey and I went over to visit Nora around 4PM.  All of our Saturday cab rides were ~11.50 euro, and today ~7.50 eruo; not sure if Saturday is expensive cab day.  We checked out the hospital cafeteria.  They had premade breads, desserts, sandwiches, and drinks.  Well... they could have had other things, but we couldn't read the menu.  These sandwiches were long, skinny, and incredibly thin, so I assumed they would mostly just be bread.  I asked the lady what was in it, and she listed 7 ingredients which all sounded good, so I got one.  She toasted the sandwich :)  It was actually a super flavorful sandwich; I was pleasantly surprised.  Good melty cheese and sauce n' such.  In my right hand is a chocolate croissant.

Casey was feeling better overall, but her throat was feeling worse, so we asked the attending nurse if there was a walk-in clinic (urgent care) where she could get checked out.  He told us just to go to the ER.  Casey had much better luck.  No crazy ER lines/drama; only 1 person ahead of her.  They charged her a bit more than Nora was charged for the exam (62 euro / $82).  Rather than examine her in the ER, they took her back to a different part of the hospital and examined her like you would at a normal doctors office.  I stayed with Nora during this event, but Casey described a pleasant experience.  The doctor wrote her a prescription for antibiotics and a cortozone inhaler (steroids).  Her doctor told her not to talk for 3 days.  YES, Talk about peace and quiet!!! :P  Just kidding.  We went to chill with Nora until she was ready for bed.  We explored to try and find an open pharmacy (~9:30pm) with no success, but we did find a grocery to get some breakfast and dinner foods and some laundry detergent.  Good times, eh?

A bunch of pharmacies around the hospital that close early on Sundays
